Social Bookmarking Explained
There is a lot of talk these days about Web 2.0 marketing and social media marketing.
If you know very little about what this is or how to do it don’t feel bad, you’re probably like 98% of most internet users out there.
In a nutshell social media marketing is the new way to leverage social networking sites to increase exposure, traffic, and ultimately sales. Social networking and social media sites are sites like MySpace, Facebook, Digg, technorati, Squidoo, YouTube, Revver, Blogger, WordPress, Podcast Alley, MyPodcasts, and a laundry list of others. As you can see from this list social media and social network sites include video sharing, podcasting, blogging, social bookmarking, and social news websites.
The concept of Web 2.0 or social media marketing is to add quality content to as many social media sites as you can because these sites automatically link back to you when you post your content. So now, regardless of where potential visitors “hang out” online there is a better chance of them finding you because your content and marketing message is blanketed all over the internet.
This, of course, is a very high level concept and it takes A LOT of thought, time, and effort to make it all happen and work properly. Doing some of these techniques incorrectly could get you banned from any or all of the sites so it is crucial that you do your research before attempting any social media marketing.

This is a great intro to social marketing and bookmarking. I enjoyed reading it! I especially like the Squidoo site, and would recommend any online marketer check out the potential of using this site.
