Most Mobile Content Execs are NOT Mobile Content Users

Wireless communities and consumer services provider BuzzCity says 54 percent of delegates surveyed at the MoCollywood 2007 conference never use the premium mobile content services they market and sell. Not a great advert or indication of conviction of their own services.

MoCollywood is a leading mobile content event attended by representatives from the mobile content value chain - mobile operators, media players, content owners, developers, retailers and big brands.

The survey adds that among the mobile operator, media player, content owner, developer and retailer execs in attendance, 56 percent said they employ mobile web services on a daily basis, but rarely if ever capitalize on mobile TV and music services. Another 39 percent of respondents anticipate that within three years, mobile advertising will lead revenue generation–30.5 percent anticipate flat monthly fees will replace current pay-per-download charges. In addition, 72 percent of respondents believe that mobile social networking services remain in their infancy as an emerging niche, and are little more than an extension of existing online sites.
